The gorges of Todra in the Moroccan desert (6 Days)

Day 1: Marrakech – Ouarzazate

Start your journey early in the morning with a 4×4 Land Cruiser and driver to explore the Todra Gorges. Cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait-Ben-Haddou. Have lunch in Ouarzazate, visit the Fint Oasis, enjoy a tea break with locals, and then transfer to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Todra gorges

Embark on your adventure to discover the Todra Gorges after breakfast. Travel through the lake, palm grove, and kasbahs of Skoura. Journey through the Valley of Roses, passing by Ait Saîd, Tourbist, Tamalout, and Bou-Thahrar to reach the kasbah of Glaoui Ait-Youl. Admire the colored rocks and old kasbahs before reaching the Todra Gorges. Enjoy a short walk in the impressive gorges before settling into your guest house for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Todra gorges – Zagora

Start your day with breakfast before traveling to Tansikt via N’Kob. Lunch on the way and continue along the Draa Valley lined with date palms and typical ksours. Continue on the left bank of the Draa until Zagora. Dinner and an overnight stay at the Riad.

Day 4: Zagora – Dunes of Chegaga

Take a 4×4 and travel to M’Hamid before continuing through the palm grove of Ouled Brahim and the Reg d’Elfaija. Reach the last palm grove of the Drâa and the beginning of the sandy desert in M’Hamid. The camp is located 80 km south of M’Hamid in the middle of the sand dunes and the Great Dunes of Chegaga. Enjoy a solemn moment at sunset, local welcome and dinner under the stars before an overnight stay in a nomadic tent at the bivouac.

Day 5: Dunes of Chegaga

Start your day with breakfast and a camel ride on a sandy track through the desert. Have a picnic in a small oasis before continuing on the track and returning to the bivouac at the foot of the big dune. Dinner and an overnight stay in a nomadic tent at the bivouac.

Day 6: Dunes of Chegaga – Marrakech

After breakfast, travel to Foum-Zguid via the old Paris-Dakar track, passing by the dried lake Iriqui. Have lunch in Taznakht before arriving in Marrakech around 18:30. Transfer to your hotel or Riad.
