Desert & Mountains (3 Days)
Day 1: Ouarzazate – Discovery of the Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges (or Todgha)
In the morning, depart in a 4×4 vehicle to explore the Todra Gorges (or Todgha), starting with a drive along the lake, the palm grove, and the kasbahs of Skoura. Continue by road to reach El Kelâa des M’Gouna, a large village located at the junction of the valleys of M’Goun and Dades, and discover the Dades Gorges. From there, take the track of the Valley of the Roses while passing by Ait Saîd, Tourbist, Tamalout, which will bring you to Bou-Thahrar in the Valley of the Roses. If time allows, there is a possibility of a walk in the M’Goun wadi before joining the kasbah of the Glaoui Ait-Youl on the edge of the Dades valley. Along the way, enjoy the magnificent landscapes and kasbahs on the road of the Dades Gorges. Return to Boumalne and Tinghir, and take a short walk in the impressive Todra Gorges (or Todgha) before settling in a nice guest house for dinner.
Day 2: Todra (or Todgha) Gorges – Chegaga Dunes
After breakfast, hit the road from N’Kob to Tansikt, then take the track along the Draa Valley and its countless date palms. Cross many ksours (fortified villages), typical of this region, and follow the left bank of the Draa to Zagora. Stop in Zagora for lunch before continuing the journey in an air-conditioned 4×4 Land Cruiser to cross a large stage of the Hamada (stone desert) before arriving at the Sacred Oasis. Take a rest and have lunch under palm trees, then depart around 4 pm for the sea of sand, the Great Dunes of Chegaga, which culminate at 300 m of altitude and stretch on more than 40 km. Enjoy dinner with typical nomadic entertainment and spend the night under nomadic tents.
Day 3: Great Dunes of Chegaga – Ouarzazate
Very early in the morning, you will be taken to contemplate the spectacle of the sunrise over the Great Dunes of Chegaga. After breakfast, depart for Ouarzazate by the track between the Erg of Chegaga and the dry bed of the Draa, passing by the Iriqui lake. The road will then lead you to Foum Zguid and Taznakht, with a stop to admire the carpets, before returning to your hotel in Ouarzazate.
