IMPERIAL CITIES AND SAHARA DESERT

Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Upon arriving at Casablanca airport, you will receive a warm welcome from our team and be taken on a private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious dinner at the hotel before retiring for the night. We want to ensure that your first moments in Morocco are comfortable and memorable.

Day 2: Casablanca -Rabat

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, you will embark on a tour of Morocco’s economic capital, Casablanca. You will start with a visit to the central market, located in the charming art-deco district of the city, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and pick up some souvenirs. Next, you will explore the Habbous district, famous for its stunning architecture and traditional Moroccan handicrafts. You will also have the opportunity to see the Royal Palace from the outside and visit the bustling Mohamed V square.

You will then head to the residential area of Anfa to see the magnificent Hassan II mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean.

After an optional lunch, you will travel to the capital city of Rabat. Upon arrival, you will check in to your hotel before embarking on a guided tour of the city. You will visit the Royal Palace (the Mechouar), the Kasbah of Oudaya, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Mausoleum Mohamed V, the Hassan Tower, and the Monetary Museum, where you can learn about the history and culture of Morocco.

After a day filled with exploration, you will return to your hotel for dinner and a restful night’s sleep.

Day 3: Rabat – Meknes – Fez

Depart for Meknes, the capital of King Moulay Ismail, renowned for its 40 kilometers of ramparts. Discover Bab Mansour, the royal stables, and the Jewish quarter before continuing the journey towards Fez. Along the way, explore the Roman city of Volubilis and the sacred village of Moulay Idriss. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 4: Fez

Explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Fez today. Begin by wandering through the winding streets of the medieval medina and visiting the Medersas Attarine and Bou Anania, the Nejjarine fountain, the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, and the Karaouine mosque. In the afternoon, discover the new city of Fez al Jdid. Enjoy dinner and spend the night at the hotel.

Day 5: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud –Merzouga

After breakfast, we will depart for Merzouga via Imouzzer Kandar, passing through the cedar woods of the middle Atlas, including Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft center. There will be an optional lunch in Midelt. We will continue our journey to Erfoud via Errachidia and the Ziz valley, which is dotted with palm trees and is the source for the yearly date festival in Erfoud. Upon arrival in Merzouga, also known as the “Desert door,” we will swap our car for a Jeep vehicle and start our journey through the red dunes of Merzouga. This will be an opportunity to enjoy the serenity and peace of the desert before arriving at our camp for sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 6: Merzouga

Live a full day in the desert.

Today you will enjoy a full day in the desert. After breakfast, your experienced cameleer will share with you the serenity and silence of the desert during your camel ride into the red dunes of Erg Chebbi. Afterwards enjoy four-wheel driving through the desert before stopping for a picnic in the dunes.

This evening you can enjoy star gazing and the tranquility of the Sahara Desert.

Day 7: Merzouga – Erfoud – Tinghir – Boumalne – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, departure towards Thinghir for a visit of the famous Todra Gorges. Optional lunch on the way. Continuation towards Ouarzazate via Boumalne du Dades. Arrival to Ouarzazate. Dinner & overnight.

Day 8: Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After having breakfast, you will explore the city of Ouarzazate and visit its most renowned Kasbahs, including the Kasbah of Taourirt and the Aït Ben Haddou film set which has been used in many major film productions. Additionally, you will visit the Atlas studio, the first cinema studio in the Maghreb region. Afterward, you will continue your journey to Marrakech via the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, and arrive at your Riad for an overnight stay.

Day 9: Marrakech – City tour  

Discover the iconic landmarks of Marrakech on this full-day tour. Begin with a visit to « The Secret Garden », an exquisite example of Arab-Andalusian and Moroccan palaces. Next, explore the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and marvel at the Bahia Palace with its stunning ceilings and patios. Take a stroll around the tinsmiths’ square and savor a delicious lunch in a medina restaurant.

After lunch, continue your visit of the city with stops at the minaret of the Koutoubia and the outside of the mosque, as well as the bustling medina and its vibrant souks. End your tour at the famous Jamaa El Fna square, a UNESCO heritage site.

Day 10: Marrakech – Casablanca airport

Transfer to Casablanca’s airport.
