Desert Tour – Marrakech to Fes (4 Days)
Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
We’ll depart Marrakech at 08:00 and travel to Ouarzazate via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which winds through the stunning High Atlas mountains. During the journey, we’ll visit the Telouet Kasbah and the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Ouarzazate, known as the « Hollywood of Africa » due to its popularity among filmmakers, is also on the itinerary. We’ll spend the night in Ouarzazate.
Day 2: Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges
Leaving Ouarzazate behind, we’ll make our way to the picturesque Dades Gorges, passing through the Valley of Roses on the way. Admire the lush greenery of fig and almond fields before reaching Todra Gorges. Our Kasbah accommodation, with stunning river views, awaits us for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes (Erg Chebbi)
We’ll depart from Todra Gorges and head towards the famous Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Along the way, we’ll drive through the arid landscapes and volcanic mountains of the Anti Atlas, passing through the town of Tinjedad, known as the nerve center of the area, and Erfoud, which is famous for its fossil factories. As we delve deeper into the desert, the dunes will gradually appear in the middle of nowhere. Spend the night in a Berber tented camp and enjoy a camel trekking experience under the stars.
Day 4: Erg Chebbi – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, we’ll ride camels back to the dune line for a quick shower before driving towards Fes. On the way, we’ll stop to enjoy panoramic views over the Ziz valley and cross the High Atlas mountains again. We’ll have lunch in the town of Midelt and pass through Azrou and its huge cedar wood forest to see the monkeys. Our journey ends in the legendary city of Fes.
